I never used to like tea tree products. The ones I bought on the high street stung and stripped my skin, so for a few years I stayed well away. But I was browsing The Body Shop's website a few months ago and was drawn in by all the rave reviews on their tea tree range. I didn't buy all these products at once – but after the mask, I bought the lotion, then the body wash, and they have helped to clear up my skin a lot, I will probably buy a few more things from the range.
I bought this body wash (£6) when I started to get a few pimples on my back (cries). I had never had this problem before so it was a bit traumatic when it first happened, and I didn't even know you could get shower gel specifically targeted at acne prone skin. It is all under control now though thanks to this shower gel. I like to apply it as soon as I get in the shower, leave it on for as long as possible while I shave my legs or wash my hair, then wash it off. I use this in combination with my La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo [+] and the skin clearing lotion and there have been no new breakouts for a good few weeks.

Isn't it nice when you buy something on a whim and it just works? A few months ago my skin was in serious need of a deep clean, and I couldn't find anything else on the high street like this. It is a fantastic product and well worth the £10 price tag.
The texture of this mask is thick and creamy. It smells like mint and tea tree (obviously) and feels cold when applied to the skin. I apply a generous amount all over my face and leave it on for 15 minutes, by which point most of the product has dried and sunk into my skin. I then wash it off, pat my face dry and apply moisturier – my skin feels super smooth. Having used this product once a week for about three months, I have noticed a great difference in the texture and clarity of my skin and I don't think I could live without this now.
The skin clearing lotion (£8) is a very mattifying product – not moisturising enough for my skin to use it on its own, so I apply my La Roche Posay Effalcar duo [+] beforehand and then put this on top.
Like the face mask, it has a refreshing minty-tea tree scent and feels cool when applied to the skin – something which I love because it makes me skin feel extra clean. It sinks into the skin quickly and leaves no funky residue, making application of make up over the top easy and fuss free.
Again, in terms of clearing up my blemishes, with the combination of this product and my La Roche Posay skincare, I haven't broken out for a good month or two now, so I will continue with this routine and hope I don't jinx it all now and break out with a zillion spots!
Have you tried The Body Shop's tea tree range? I'd recommend giving it a go if you're suffering from acne anywhere on your body. The products are fantastic quality for the price and have become staples in my skincare routine.
Thanks so much for this post, Naomi! I get paid tomorrow (finally!!) and need to invest in some good skincare stuff so that my skin is ready for a bit less foundation come summer! So I think I might purchase the mask - it sounds like a bit of a life saver!
ReplyDeleteIt's excellent! I recommend the La Roche Posay Effaclar range too :)

i used to love tea tree oil and related products when i was younger! i can get quite dry skin sometimes so i mostly avoid it now, but they are so good for those pesky breakouts x
ReplyDeleteI do find it to be quite drying, so always have something more moisturising to hand to apply alongside it but yes, so good for break outs!

I've been wondering about trying this range out for a while and I think I'll deffo make a purchase, my skin could really do with a deep cleanse and that mask looks great.

I love this stuff so much, the masks are great without being too harsh! I haven't tried la roche posay and I am missing out totally, but want to rebuy this range now! xxx
ReplyDeleteI must try out some of the other masks - this one is just fantastic.
DeleteAnd La Roche Posay is AMAZING. I wish I had tried it sooner because it literally just saved my skin (with the help of other things too) - the toner and duo [+] are a must!

Ooh, I might have to give some of these a go! Thanks for the tip :) x
ReplyDeleteThese products seem amazing. I'm using tea tree on my skin at the moment because I have some breakouts. Since I've almost run out of tea tree oil, maybe, when I pop into Body Shop, I need to try one of these.

I used the face mask last night and I love it more and more after every use. It just makes me skin feel amazing. The way it sinks into the skin makes me feel like my skin is absorbing all the goodness!
